Welcome Mr Clunker. Are you talking about a totally separate building away from the home, or an attached area with a separate entrance. I'm in the process of installing my 1500 in a shipping container about 8' from my home. As to the first two scenarios, they are both addressed in the installation manual. Good luck.

    Have a grand day!

    Hello dieselclunker,

Hank (and Heidi) here, in SW Wisconsin.

We are in-the-process of designing and installing a GARN 2000 in a building which will be immediately adjacent to our Barn/Home.  We decided against putting it inside the barn because even Harry Houdini wouldn't have been able to squeeze into the man-way if we put it in the basement (former milking parlor) due to height limitation.

We plan to put the GARN in a 'building' which has a fire-rated door access, from basement directly into the GARN ROOM. This 'building' will be immediately adjacent ot the barn....not just 10 or 20 feet away, but right next to the barn. We will tear down the former milk house which was attached to the barn, and put up a new structure there to 'house' the GARN.

We JUST received word from the Township's Building Inspector that the plans we submitted to him are suitable for converting our 36x104 foot barn into our home. We are SOOO excited.  Once we have a design for that adjacent GARN ROOM structure I will add to this thread.

    Sincerely,

    Hankovitch
