Additional Storage system

Has anyone added additional storage capacity to the GARN? Is there a benefit? Is there a draw back? I am thinking about adding an additional 1000 gal tank... will this allow me to store more heat? i have an existing 1000 gal tank to store hot water from solar collectors, can i dump it into that?
